1. Hello, listening friends.
2. Welcome back to this broadcast.
3. In this broadcast we are going to continue our series on ordinary people who prayed extraordinary prayers.
4. Many of us can testify to the fact that when we prayed for a specific issue or a specific matter.
5. God answered those prayers more than we expected
6. And beyond what we expected.
7. I know that is the testimony of many of us
8. Do you remember a time in your life when you were dealing with a desperate need for God to supernaturally intervene?
9. Do you remember a time when you had an issue in your life over which you wrestled with God in prayer for days or weeks, or even months?
10. You may have asked God to open a closed door for you
11. And you waited upon the Lord for that door to be opened
12. And just at the right time, God opened all the doors one right after the other
13. The answer to your prayers came and it was even more than what you expected.
你的祷告蒙神应允,而且超过你所求所想;
14. You prayed for God to intervene in an impossible situation.
15. The human dimension told you it was impossible
16. And God just overwhelmed you with the provision of his intervention of his answer to your prayer.
17. In Genesis 24 we find an example of this kind of intervention.
18. I know that in my own life I can testify to this.
19. There are many times in my life where I prayed for what others called the impossible
20. And God said trust me, I will break through the human impossibility
神对我说,相信我,我可以作人不能作的事;
21. God said trust me, I will intervene with such clarity that for the rest of your life you will know that I am the Lord
22. I kept pouring my heart out to the Lord trusting him and clinging to his promises
23. I trusted the Lord and waited for his supernatural intervention
24. Sometimes some of my good friends questioned me asking me how I could pray for the impossible.
25. But when God moves supernaturally, he gets all the glory.
26. These events in my life of the Lord’s clear, supernatural intervention at a specific time in my life had become landmarks for me.
神在特定的时间,在我生命中所成就的这些超自然奇妙的事,都成为我生命的标记;
27. They became my stones of remembrance
它们成为我回顾人生的纪念碑;
28. They became my assurance of the power of God.
它们成为我确信神能力的保证;
29. They have become my confidence that my God can do the impossible.
30. I know that most of us have experienced the supernatural power of God in our lives.
31. If you are a believer,
32. Your salvation is the supernatural intervention of God.
33. That intervention may or may not dramatic.
34. Whatever that may be, it was God’s clear hand of intervention in your life
35. And God does that for a reason
36. And the reason is this
37. God wants you to look back on those landmarks in your life.
38. God wants you to look back on the stones of remembrance in your life.
39. So that you will trust him when you face the next challenge.
40. But here’s the problem.
41. My listening friends, please listen carefully.
42. The problem with us is that we tend to forget.
43. We are prone to forget God’s past interventions.
44. We tend to say, well that was yesterday, but what about tomorrow?
45. We tend to forget or minimize the hand of God’s supernatural intervention in the past.
我们往往忘记了,或者是缩小了过去神施展大能的手;
46. We also tend to make up what we think are logical theories to explain answers to prayer.
47. My listening friends, this is very important.
48. Our forgetfulness is a big problem to God.
49. It really is
50. It is a big problem for all of us in our relationship with God.
51. Why is this a big problem?
52. Because until you look at God’s hand of power in the past with thankfulness and gratitude.
53. You will not be able to exercise faith in the future when you face the next challenges in your life.
54. I’m going to repeat this again.
55. Until you look back at God’s supernatural hand of intervention in your past with gratitude and thanksgiving.
56. You will not be able to exercise genuine Biblical faith to face the future challenges.
57. This is not only a big problem for many people today, this was a huge problem for the people of Israel.
58. Do you know how many times in the Bible God says, remember, remember, remember, remember?
59. Because we are prone to forget the hand of God that worked in our life in the past.
60. Every one of us is prone to forget.
61. They forgot God’s past intervention and so do we.
62. But Eliezer the chief steward of Abraham is a man who did not forget.
63. He did not forget God’s supernatural dealings with his master Abraham.
64. The entire chapter of Genesis chapter 24 is devoted to this story.
65. In this broadcast we are going to deal with the second part of the chapter.
66. In our last two broadcasts we dealt with Eliezer’s journey and prayer to the Lord to provide the right wife for Isaac.
67. Let us hear the second half of the story in Genesis 24:34 to 64.
我如今站在井旁,对哪一个出来打水的女子说:请你把你瓶里的水给我一点喝;
68. Eliezer the steward did not forget.
69. Eliezer did not forget God’s supernatural dealings with his master Abraham.
70. He watched God’s supernatural intervention for too many years to doubt it.
71. Eliezer remembered the time that God promised Abraham a son from his wife Sarah in their old age.
72. Eliezer remembered how Sarah’s faith faltered.
73. He remembered how Sarah persuaded Abraham to take Hagar, his concubine.
74. Why?
75. So that they could have a son through Sarah’s own servant.
76. Eliezer remembered how Abraham’s own faith faltered and wanted to settle for Ishmael.
77. So Abraham said to God, oh that Ishmael might live in thy sight.
78. Eliezer remembered God’s faithfulness in giving Isaac to Abraham and Sarah.
79. Eliezer remembered that God gave Isaac in a supernatural power and supernatural intervention over nature.
80. Eliezer remembered the crushing testing of Abraham as he took Isaac up to Mount Moriah.
81. Eliezer remembered Abraham’s strong faith and his willingness to offer Isaac as a sacrifice.
82. Can you imagine offering the greatest gift that God has given you as a sacrifice?
83. Ah, but Eliezer remembered.
84. He remembered how God intervened on the top of Mount Moriah.
85. Eliezer remembered the faithfulness of God when he provided himself a sacrifice and rescued Isaac.
86. Ah, Eliezer remembered all that.
87. You see, until you remember with thankfulness.
88. Until you remember with gratitude the workings of God in the past.
89. You will not be able to exercise faith in the present.
90. You will not be able to exercise faith for God to be able to work in the future.
91. Oh, Eliezer remembered.
92. So with confidence in the supernatural intervention of God Eliezer simply prayed.
93. We looked at that prayer in the previous broadcasts.
94. But listen again to Genesis 24:12.
95. Oh, Lord, God of my master Abraham grant me success today I pray thee and show steadfast love to my master Abraham.
96. That is the kind of faith that is coming from this man Eliezer of Damascus.
97. He was sent on a commission to find a wife for his master’s son Isaac.
98. Eliezer prayed that he would recognize the right woman for Isaac.
99. When I ask her for a drink, I will know who she is.
100. By her willingness to draw water not only for me but for all my camels.
101. When he saw that simple sign, Eliezer would know that she was the one.
102. It was a very simple sign.
103. It was between him and the Lord and only the Lord would have known it.
104. But we are out of time right now
105. Tune in next time when we will discuss what happens when Eliezer arrives at his destination.
106. Until then, I’m going to tell you to keep on praying and keep on believing.
107. Until next time, I wish you God’s richest blessing.
