4. and I want to begin, today, by telling you something that is very familiar to all of us.

5. From the day when we are children, we want to go our own way.
当我们还是孩子的时候,我们就有自己的主张。
6. The first word a little child learns to say is “no;”
小孩儿首先学会说的话,就是“不”,
7. then, we grow up, and we want to take charge of our own destiny.
后来,随着年龄的增长,我们总想着要掌管自己的命运,
8. We don’t like to be thought of as dependent on anything or anybody.
我们不愿被认为是依靠别人而生存的人。
9. From the last broadcast of James, Chapter 4, verses 1 to 12, we saw the big three enemies:
从上次的信息中,通过雅各书第四章第1-12节,我们讲到了三大仇敌。
10. the world, the flesh, and the devil;
世界、肉体和魔鬼。
11. and we learned that there are three keys to spiritual growth;
同时,我们也学习了生命成长的三大关键。
12. first of which was learning submission.
就是要学会顺服。
13. In today’s passage, James 4:13 to 17, James continues to hammer away on the importance of submission to the will of God in our lives.
在今天的信息中,雅各要通过4章13-17节的经文,不断向我们强调,顺服神的重要性。(读经文,雅4:13-17)
14. Sadly, there are many Christians who see the will of God as a bitter medicine that they must take,
可悲的是,许多基督徒把神的旨意看作是不得不吞下去的苦药。
15. instead of seeing it for what it is—the gracious evidence of the love of God.
而不是看到神大爱的明证。
16. I have met people all over the world who are afraid to abandon themselves to Christ.
我见过世界上有很多害怕把自己交托给主的人。
17. When I dig deeper, I find out that they are afraid to submit to God, thinking that, if they do His will, they will have to swallow a bitter medicine.
当我细心观察,就发现他们之所以害怕顺服,是因为怕顺服神以后,会吃苦头。
18. This is a completely false assumption.
其实,他们大错特错了。
19. The will of God comes out of the heart of God,
神的旨意就是神的心意,
20. and His will is the expression of His love.
祂的旨意,是祂爱的流露。
21. We truly miss out on God's blessings of love by refusing to submit to His will.
因着拒绝顺服神,我们的确错过了许多神所赐的福分。
22. Reaching Christian maturity means that you have to depend on God more, not less.
成熟的基督徒,意味着更加依靠神,而不是减少对祂的依靠。
23. Our dependence on God starts with our submission that we cannot save ourselves, and we must turn to Jesus Christ for salvation.
依靠神,我们必须先承认不能救自己,唯有靠耶稣基督的救恩,我们才能得救。
24. God is looking for men and women who are willing to look to Him for direction.
神正在寻找愿意跟从祂指引的人。
25. God is desiring that we become dependent on Him, not independent of Him.
神渴望我们成为依靠祂的人,而不是自己作主的人。
26. God wants us to acknowledge that He is in charge, and not us.
神要我们承认,是祂在掌管一切,而不是我们。
27. Listen to what James is saying here.
雅各是怎么说的呢?
28. James is describing, not only those who over-plan their lives, but, those who actually leave God out of their plans altogether.
雅各在这儿所描述的,不单单是那些过份地为自己筹划一生的人,也包括了那些把神完全置于他们计划之外的人。
29. I believe in planning.
我个人相信,我们需要有计划。
30. I believe in goal-setting;
我也相信,需要制定目标。
31. and James is not condemning either of these.
雅各并不是责备这两种情况。
32. James is not suggesting for a moment that we ought to live our lives as drifters wandering aimlessly in life.
雅各从未建议我们应该过一个毫无目标、漂流无定的生活。
33. No.
没有。
34. James is saying don’t make your plans based on your desires, and your ambitions, and say, “Lord, bless my plans.”
雅各所说的是,不要按照你自己的愿望和野心来作计划,然后说:“主啊,赐福给我的计划。”
35. The Word of God is saying to us that God, and the will of God, must be the very essence of our planning.
神的话语告诉我们:神和神的旨意,才是我们计划的根基。
36. Even more than this,
而且,
37. that our plans and our goals should be nothing less than what God wants for us.
我们的计划和目标一点也不能低于神对我们的要求。
38. How do we do that?
那么,我们应当怎样做呢?
39. By prayerfully saying, “Lord, what do You want me to accomplish in my life?
我们应该向神祷告说:“主啊,求你指示我一生当完成的事。
40. How many people do You want me to witness to in the next few months?
在未来的几个月里,你要我对多少人做见证呢?
41. How many people do You want me to lead to You in the next few years?
在未来的几年里,你要我把多少人带到你面前呢?
42. What areas in my life do You want me to change this year?”
今年,我的生命有哪些方面需要改变呢?
43. As the Lord gives you an impression of what He wants you to do, then, begin to pray for what God wants in your life;
当神向你启示祂的心意以后,你就要为此向神祈求。
44. thus, from beginning to end, these are not your goals, but God’s goals for you.
那么,从头到尾都不是你自己定的目标,而是神为你制定计划。
45. That way, your prayer life is centered around your following of God’s plan.
这样,你的祷告生活,就是以神的计划为中心了。
46. This is how I try to live my life.
这也是我自己一直努力去做的。
47. The Scripture said, “Delight yourself in the Lord, and He will give you the desires of your heart.”
经上说:“又要以耶和华为乐,祂就将你心里所求的赐给你。”
48. We always concentrate on the desires of our hearts, but delighting ourselves in the Lord will mean that we only seek His will in our lives.
我们总是以自己心所愿的为中心,可是以神为乐,就意味着,我们只寻求神的旨意。
49. In John 15, Jesus said,
主耶稣在约翰福音15章那里说:
50. “If you abide in my Word, then, whatever you ask, you shall receive...”
你们若常在我里面,我的话也常在你们里面,凡你们所愿意的,祈求就给你们成就。
51. because, when you are abiding in His Word, you will only ask for that which is in His will.
因为当神的话在你里头,你就能按照神的旨意来祈求。
52. Does God reveal everything to us?
神会不会向我们显明祂所有的旨意呢?
53. Of course not.
当然不会。
54. He’s a sovereign God.
祂是至高无上的神。
55. As long as I know that He is in control, I am at peace;
只要我明白是祂在掌管着一切,就会有平安。
56. and I don’t need to know everything.
我没有必要知道所有的事。
57. Do you remember the Gospel account of the storm in the Sea of Galilee?
还记得福音书上所记载的关于加利利海上风暴的故事吗?
58. There were two distinct reactions to the storm.
当时,有两种对风浪截然不同的反应。
59. The Disciples’ reaction was that of panic in the face of the storm.
面对风浪,门徒的反应是恐慌。
60. Jesus’ reaction was that He was asleep.
而主的反应却是睡着了。
61. Why?
为什么呢?
62. Simply, they had forgotten that He is in control, and they panicked.
很简单,他们之所以恐慌,是因为他们忘记了,是主在掌管着一切。
63. The stress factor in your life can be dealt with only when you live a life of dependence on God the Holy Spirit.
在你的人生中,只有依靠圣灵的带领,才能对付你生活的压力。
64. The reason so many Christians live a life of stress and anxiety is because they are determined to take control of their lives.
许多基督徒生活在压力和焦虑中,就是因为他们坚持要掌管自己的命运。
65. I want to give you a measuring stick by which you can measure if you are spiritually growing or not.
现在,让我给你一把尺,你可以衡量一下自己的灵性是不是有长进。
66. Please listen carefully.
请仔细听。
67. Measure the gap between the time you take over control of a situation, until you relinquish control to the Spirit of God, and allow Him to lead you and direct you.
请测量一下,每次你自己作主,到你交出主权让圣灵来引导你之间,经过多长的时间?
68. The shorter the time becomes, the more you are growing spiritually,
这段时间越短,显示你灵性的长进就越多。
69. which is, in turn, the more you are in tune with God’s voice.
同时也显示,你的行动和神的指示是一致的。
70. You saw it in the last message about the big three -- the world, the flesh, and the devil –
上一次,我们提到三大仇敌:世界、肉体和魔鬼。
71. are conspiring continuously to hinder us from hearing the voice of God.
他们一直都在暗地里阻碍我们聆听神的声音。
72. There are some Christians living their Christian life like someone getting a phone call in the midst of a room filled with people.
有些基督徒的生活,就像在一间挤满人的房屋里通电话。
73. People are talking all around them –
人们在他周围不停地谈话。
74. terrible noise.
一片噪杂。
75. The radio is blaring,
收音机大声地响着,
76. and the television is on its highest volume;
电视机的音量被调到最高。
77. and this poor person keeps on saying, “What, what, what?
这个可怜的人只能不停地问:“你说什么,你说什么?
78. Say it again, I can’t hear you!”
再说一次,我听不见!”
79. Many Christians are like this.
这就是许多基督徒的光景。
80. They, too, cannot hear God at all,
他们根本就听不见神的声音。
81. so they go in their lives from crisis to crisis,
所以,他们的生命每况愈下。
82. from stress to stress,
压力越来越大。
83. from problem to problem,
问题越来越多。
84. because if you are not tuned with God, you are missing God’s best for your life.
因为,假如你和神的旨意不一致的话,你就会错失神最好的安排。
85. If you are not in tune with God, chances are, you are treading water and feeling very tired of it.
当你和神的步伐不一致时,很可能你的生活就像不断在踩水似的,使你疲惫不堪。
86. What happens when you get out of the will of God?
离开神的旨意,结果会怎样呢?
87. Well, its not the end of everything. You will suffer, for sure;
当然,还不致于完全绝望,但你却要受苦;
88. but, remember, when God cannot rule, He will overrule.
要记住,当你不要神掌管你的时候,祂就要管教你。
89. Jonah could not let God rule, so God overruled in his life;
约拿不让神来掌管,所以神就管教他。
90. but he brought pain upon himself.
结果,他给自己带来了很多痛苦。
91. Some may say, “How will I know the will of God?”
也许你会问:“我怎样明白神的旨意呢?”
92. According to John 7:17, if you are willing to obey God, God is willing to reveal His will to you.
约翰福音7章17节说:“人若立志遵着他的旨意行,就必晓得这教训或是出于神,或是我凭着自己说的。”
93. God does not reveal His will to the curious and the careless, but to those who are ready and willing to obey Him.
神不会向那些只是好奇或漠不关心的人显明祂的旨意,祂的旨意只向那些随时准备顺服的人显明。
94. If you really want to know the will of God, but you are not intending to obey it, God will not reveal it to you.
如果你只想了解神的旨意,而不准备顺服的话,神是不会向你显明祂的旨意的。
95. Listen to what Colossians 1:9 says:
请听歌罗西书1章9节所说的:

96. In Ephesians 5:17, God wants us to understand His will;
在以弗所书5章17节那里,神要我们明白祂的旨意。
97. and this is where spiritual maturity comes in.
这就是灵命成熟的表现。
98. A child may know his father’s will, but not understand his will.
孩子也许知道父亲要他做的事情,但却不明白为什么。
99. A father can tell a five-year-old to do something,
父亲让他5岁的孩子去做一件事情。
100. and the boy would ask, “Why, daddy?”
也许孩子会问,“爸爸,为什么?”
101. And the father says, “Because I said so.”
爸爸回答说:“因为是我叫你去做的。”
102. You cannot explain logically to a five-year-old, but, to a twenty-year-old, it’s a different story.
你不可能给一个5岁的孩子分析原因,但对一个 20岁的人,情况就不同了。
103. A twenty-year-old, who is close to his father, will not only understand "what?" but the "why?"
一个和父亲关系很亲密的20岁青年,不但能明白“是什么?”,更能明白“为什么?”
104. As the friends of God who have the privilege of knowing God, we know some things.
作为神的朋友,我们有这个特权来明白关于神的一些事情。
105. Listen to what Jesus said, in John 15:15,
请看约翰福音15:15,

106. but, according to Romans 12:2, we must prove the will of God.
但根据罗马书12:2,我们必须察验何为神的旨意。
107. That means that we must put it into practice.
意思就是,我们必须把神的旨意在生活中实行出来。
108. We must apply it in our lives;
我们必须把它应用在我们的生活中。
109. and the more we obey, the easier it is to discover what God wants us to do.
我们越是顺服,就越容易明白神的旨意。
110. It is like learning how to swim,
这就好像学习游泳,
111. or play a musical instrument.
或学习演奏乐器一样。
112. The more you practice it, the more it becomes second nature to you.
你练习得越多,这种技能就会变成你的本能。
113. The people who are going around asking “How do I discern God’s will in my life?” are announcing to everyone that they have never really tried to do God’s will.
有些人整天问:“我怎样才能明白神的旨意呢?”,其实,他们从来就没有尝试过要去实行神的旨意。
114. You start with what you know you ought to do, then, God opens the way for the next step.
先从你明明知道应该做的事情做起,神就会告诉你下一步该怎么走。
115. Please understand what I’m going to tell you.
请留心听下面的话,
116. When you serve the Lord begrudgingly, or because you feel you have to, you may accomplish His work; but you, yourself, miss out on the blessing.
当你不甘心地服事神,或者感觉到不得不这样做的时候,你也许能够完成祂要你做的工作,但你却失去了神的赐福。
117. It will be a toil, not a ministry.
它成为一种劳苦,而不是服事神。
118. Why must we be dependent on God, and joyfully obey His will?
我们为什么要依靠神,并欢欢喜喜地顺服祂的旨意呢?
119. James said, "because life is so uncertain."
雅各说:“因为人的生命是如此的不可靠。”
120. To plan your tomorrow without God is very foolish,
其实,将神搁置在一旁来筹划未来,是非常愚蠢的行为。
121. because you might not be around tomorrow;
因为你不知道明天是否还活在这个世界上。
122. because life is like a mist. It appeared for a little time; and, then, it disappears.
因为我们的生命如同云雾,出现少时就不见了。
123. The charter of our lives is temporary.
我们肉体的生命是暂时的。
124. We appear for a short time; then, we pass away.
我们出现少时,就不见了。
125. Most teenagers don’t think that life is fragile.
大多数年轻人都不认为生命是脆弱的。
126. They think that we are invincible;
他们觉得人类是无敌的。
127. and, then, by the grace of God, when they reach the age of twenty-one, they begin to think differently;
可是靠着神的恩典,当他们长到21岁时,就开始有不同的想法。
128. so, James concludes, in verse 17, by saying this:
所以,雅各在17节那里总结说,

129. In fact, the whole New Testament teaches that the sins of omission are treated just as seriously as the sin of commission.
实际上,整本新约圣经都告诫我们,忽视罪和犯罪是同样的严重。
130. In Matthew 25:41, Jesus tells us that, in the last day, there are going to be some who say, “Lord, we did not do anything wrong!..”
耶稣在马太福音25章41节告诉我们﹕当审判的时候,会有人说:“主啊,我们做错了什么呢?”
131. and He will say to them, “It is not so much the wrong that you did not do, but the right that you knew to do, but did not do.”
主会对他们说:“并不是你们做错了什么,而是你们知道行善却不去行。”
132. There is a saying that goes like this:
有句俗话说道:
133. “It is not the mountain ahead that wears you out; it is the grain of sand in your shoe.”
“不是前面的高山令你疲惫不堪,而是你鞋里的沙子让你无法走下去。”
134. Many a man worried, for fear he would not be able to cross a mountain, has had to stop some miles before he crossed the foothills because he had not taken time to clean out his shoes.
很多时候,因为我们没有清理鞋子,只好在离山好几个公里的地方就被迫停了下来,使我们因不能跨越高山而忧虑不已。
135. Often, the source of failure in the Christian life is not committing the big sin, but being indifferent toward what is right;
同样,基督徒灵命失败的根源并不是犯了多么严重的罪,而是对于我们该做的事漠不关心;
136. being indifferent toward acting out our convictions;
对于我们为信仰该争取的,无动于衷;
137. being indifferent toward the work of the Kingdom of God;
对于有关神国度的事,漠不关心;
138. being indifferent toward what God hates;
对于神所憎恶的事,觉得无关痛痒;
139. being indifferent toward what God wants you to do.
对于神要我们作的工,视若无睹。
140. Which attitude do you have toward the will of God?
对于神的旨意,你持的是哪一种态度呢?
141. Do you totally ignore God’s will as you make your daily plans and decisions?
在你为每天作计划时,你是否完全忽视了神的旨意呢?
142. Or, do you know God’s will, but refuse to obey it?
或者你知道神的旨意,但却不愿意顺服?
143. Either will bring sorrow and ruin to the life of the person who holds it;
不管持哪一种态度,都会毁掉你的生活,给你带来痛苦。
144. but the believer who knows, loves, and obeys the will of God will enjoy God’s blessing.
而那些明白、喜爱并顺服神旨意的人,就会享受到神所赐的福气。
145. His life may not be easier, but it will be holier and happier.
也许他还是会遇到难处,但他会享受到圣洁而喜乐的生活。
146. Like Jesus, their food will be doing the will of the Father.
正像主耶稣一样,他们以遵行父神的旨意为食物。
147. It is my prayer that you obey the will of God.
但愿你也能顺服神的旨意。
