3. And as we continue in this series, we are calling it the “I Am” series.

4. In the past several broadcasts,

5. We have been seeing a number of claims that Jesus made.

6. Jesus said:

7. I am the bread of life.
我是生命的粮。
8. Jesus said:

9. I am the door of the sheep fold,

10. Jesus said:

11. I am the good shepherd.

13. I am the light of the world,

14. And tonight we are going to look at his saying that I am the way, the truth, and the life.
今天我们要接着看，祂说自己是道路，真理，生命。
15. Let us look at this trilogy:
让我们来看看这三连体：
16. The way,
道路，
17. The truth,
真理，
18. And the life.
生命。
19. The way the sentence is constructed,
根据这句话的结构，
20. It can easily be read this way:
我们可以这样来读：
21. Because I am the way,
因为我就是道路，
22. Therefore in me, you will find the truth and the life.
所以只有在我里面，你可以找到真理和生命。
23. Or this way:
你也可以这样读：
24. I am the way that can lead you to the truth and the life.
我是那条领你通向真理和生命的道路。
25. Or it can be understood this way:
你也可以这样理解：
26. Only through me will you be able to have the truth and eternal life.
只有通过我，你才可以有真理和永生。
27. Or you can read it this way:
或许你还可以这样读：
28. My way is the only way to experience the truth and the life.
我的道路是唯一可以体会真理，经历生命的道路。
29. The way of course reminds them of something very important,
这条路当然提醒了他们一件很重要的事，
30. That he is the only way to the Father,
就是：耶稣是唯一通向天父的道路，
31. Absolutely and categorically there is no other way.
除祂以外，绝对再没有第二条路。
32. If people argue with you, try to intimidate you, tell them Jesus said so.
如果有人想和你争辩，威吓你，就告诉他，是耶稣如此说的。
33. Then he is the truth,
祂是真理，
34. Jesus is the one who is truly reliable.
耶稣是唯一真正值得信赖的。
35. Sooner or later, people will let you down,
迟早，人会令你失望；
36. They will forget or neglect you, or turn on you,
他们会遗忘你，忽视你，或背叛你，
37. But not Jesus.
但耶稣不会。
38. Jesus is the rock of truth upon whom every lie shall be broken and shattered.
耶稣是真理的基石，在祂那里，所有的谎言都会被击碎。
39. He is life,
祂就是生命，
40. The only life that really counts is eternal life,
唯一可靠的是永生；
41. The only life that is really worth the name is that life that only Jesus can give.
唯一可被称为生命的，就是耶稣所赐的生命。
42. Think with me for a moment.
请和我一起来思考一下。
43. He said I am the way,
耶稣说，我就是道路，
44. Yet shortly, he would hang impotently on the cross.
但不久后，祂就被钉上了十字架。
45. He said, I am the truth,
祂说，我就是真理，
46. The lies of evil men were about to enjoy a spectacular triumph.
但恶人的诬告，眼看着就要胜利了。
47. He said I am the life,
祂说，我就是生命，
48. Yet in a few hours, his corpse would be placed in a tomb.
但几个小时后，祂的尸体就被放入了坟墓。
49. Let’s look at this triple expression again:
让我们再来看看这三个名词：
50. This time, let us look to the truth first,
我们先来看真理，
51. Then the life,
然后是生命，
52. Then the way.
最后再来看道路。
53. First the truth.
第一，真理。
54. In modern day, truth is relevant.
在现代社会，真理是相对的。
55. We even joke,
我们甚至开玩笑说，
56. And say there are 3 sides to the truth.
真理有三面。
57. Your side,
你的那一面，
58. My side,
我的这一面，
59. And the truth.
和真实的一面。
60. In fact I have a lawyer friend who told me he has seen so many people tell lies right in the court under oath.
实际上，我的一个律师朋友告诉我，他看到许多人在法庭上起假誓。
61. When Jesus said I am the truth,
当耶稣说，我就是真理时，
62. He was not merely saying, I speak the truth.
祂并不仅仅在说：我说的都是实话。
63. That of course he did,
祂当然是在说实话，
64. But there’s more.
但还有更深的涵义。
65. You see, the best of men,
你看，最杰出的人，
66. The greatest of men,
最伟大的人，
67. The mightiest of men,
最有能力的人，
68. Don’t go through life without times of doubt and mental conflict.
都会经历生命中的疑惑和挣扎。
69. Jeremiah tells us that the heart is deceitful and that the best of us confuse the truth with our needs and desires.
杰里迈亚告诉我们，人心是诡诈的，我们的需要和欲望混淆了真理。
70. But not when it comes to Jesus,
但对耶稣却不同了，
71. He saw the truth with clarity,
祂洞察真理，
72. He declared the truth with boldness.
祂放胆宣扬真理。
73. The reason for that,
这是因为，
74. He is the truth,
祂就是真理；
75. He embodied the truth,
祂概括了真理；
76. To know Jesus is to know the truth.
认识耶稣，就是认识真理。
77. If it were not so, said Jesus, would I have told you so.
耶稣说，若是没有，我就早已告诉你们了。
78. Truth is what he spoke.
真理就是祂口里所说的一切话。
79. And truth is what he was.
真理就是祂本身。
80. People who don’t believe in Jesus,
那些不信耶稣的人，
81. They may believe bits and pieces of the truth,
他们可能会相信一些零碎的真理；
82. They know truth about mathematical formulas,
他们可能知道某些数学公式；
83. They know truth about this matter or that matter,
他们可能知道这件事或那件事的实况；
SECTION B
乙部
1. They may know some truth about some science,
他们可能知道一些科学的定理；
2. But they cannot know THE Truth, until they know Jesus.
但除非他们认识耶稣，他们就不明白真理。
3. Jesus is the keystone to the arch of truth,
耶稣是真理之门的基石，
4. You take away that keystone,
你挪走了基石，
5. You’ll end up with rubble and bits and pieces of the building,
就只剩下残砖碎瓦，
6. And that’s what has happened to the western civilization today,
这就是西方文明所经历的，
7. It is a civilization that has been built upon Jesus- the keystone- the Truth.
西方文明原本是建立在耶稣这块基石上的。
8. The western education system, was motivated by the Truth of Jesus,
西方的教育制度是被耶稣的真理所推动的；
9. The western medical and hospital movement was inspired by Jesus,
西方的医学运动也是受耶稣启发的；
10. Even the capitalist system was inspired by the teaching of some of his parables.
甚至资本制度也是从耶稣的一些比喻中激发而来的。
11. But what has happened when the west slowly but surely pulled away the keystone?
但是，当他们渐渐把耶稣这块基石挪去后，又怎样了呢？
12. The west now is ending up in rubble.
如今的西方世界就是在乱石堆中。
13. Morally, all they have is bits and pieces of the truth, but not the whole truth.
在道德上，他们只有支离破碎的，不完整的真理。
14. Only when Jesus, who is the truth, takes his place of respect and honor in a society,
只有当耶稣这个真理被社会所尊重时，
15. Only then, can that society succeed.
这个社会才会成功。
16. Jesus didn’t merely say, “I teach the truth”.
耶稣并不仅仅在说，我教导真理。
17. No!
不是！
18. He said, “I am the Truth”.
祂说，我就是真理。
19. I don’t care how honest any person may claim to be,
我不管一个人认为自己有多诚实，
20. Without Jesus, at the very center of our life, there are only bits and pieces of the truth.
如果不是以耶稣为他生命的中心，他所有的只不过是一些零零碎碎的真理而已。
21. Jesus is the truth because he is the revealer of God the Father.
耶稣是真理，因为祂彰显出天父上帝的真相。
22. Jesus said, “I am the Truth.”
耶稣说：“我就是真理。”
23. But then he said, “I am the Life.”
然后又说：“我就是生命。”
24. All of us,
我们所有人，
25. Men and women,
无论男女，
26. Young and old,
无论老幼，
27. We thirst for life.
我们都渴望生命。
28. We want to live our lives to the fullest,
我们想要活得丰满，
29. We want to squeeze everything we can get out of life.
我们想要得到生命中每一分的精华。
30. And anything that clogs or impedes our life becomes the object of our hate and discomfort and dislike.
生命中所有的阻碍和搅扰，都是我们所憎恶的。
31. Whether these are sicknesses,
无论是疾病，
32. Or impediments,
或是残障，
33. Or death,
或是死亡，
34. Whatever diminishes, or limits, or destroys life we abhor.
我们厌恶一切阻碍，限制，或者是消灭生命的东西。
35. To us, happiness means abundant life,
对我们来说，快乐无非就是拥有丰盛的人生，
36. Great vitality,
强壮的活力，
37. Great scope or opportunity to be upwardly mobile.
积极向上的生机。
38. God created us with zest for life,
神创造我们的时候，就把对生命的热情放在你我里面；
39. However sin in the garden created havoc with all of this.
然而，伊甸园的罪打碎了这美好的一切。
40. Sin in the garden brought about the curse of disease and death.
伊甸园的罪带来了疾病与死亡的诅咒。
41. Sin in the garden dictated that no matter how long we may live, we all must face the prospect of lying in a cold grave.
伊甸园的罪意味着无论你我能活多长，最后我们都要面对那个冰冷的坟墓。
42. So we live our lives either in fear of death,
因此我们活着，若不是怕死，
43. Or in denial that its shadow will ever touch us.
就是否认死亡的阴影。
44. When Jesus said, “I am the Life”,
当耶稣说，我就是生命时，
45. He was saying this:
祂的意思是：
46. “You don’t need either be afraid of death, or live in denial of it”.
你们既不需要怕死，也不需要否认。
47. The Scripture said:
圣经说：
48. “For the youth may faint and be weary…
就是少年人也要疲乏困倦，
49. …and the young may fall…
强壮的也必全然跌倒。
50. …physical life may fail…
肉体会衰残，
51. And yes, it will fail us all…
没错，我们所有人都逃不过那一天，
52. …But they that wait upon the Lord…
但那等候耶和华的，
53. …They shall renew their strength…
必从新得力，
54. And they shall run and not be weary”
他们奔跑却不困倦。
55. It is Jesus, and trust in Him, that brings us and connects us to the source of eternal life.
就是我们对耶稣的信靠，使我们和永生的源头连接在一起。
56. In him, we receive a new spirit,
从祂我们得到一个新的灵，
57. In him, our spirit is daily invigorated and renewed.
在祂里面，我们的灵每天得到更新，并重新得力。
58. The more time you spend with him,
你越亲近祂，
59. The more energy and vigor you receive.
就得到越多的能力和生命力。
60. The more you hang on him,
你越依靠祂，
61. The more vitality you will experience.
就越有活力。
62. The more you seek him,
你越寻求祂，
63. The more victory you will have.
就越能得胜。
64. Because your focus will shift from this life, to what is eternal.
因为你的眼目已从今生转移到了永恒上面。
65. I am the truth and the life, said Jesus.
耶稣说：“我就是真理，生命，”
66. And I am both of these because I am the way, said Jesus.
耶稣说：“因为我是道路，所以我也是真理，生命。”
67. You notice Jesus did not say, “I am the Father.”
请注意，耶稣并没有说：“我是天父。”
68. He said I am the way to the Father,
祂说：“我是通向天父的道路，
69. Jesus said I am the revealer of the Father.
耶稣说：我是父的代表。”
70. Jesus said I am the only one who can lead you to the Father.
耶稣说：“我是唯一可以带你到父面前的那一位。”
71. Some believe that the church as an institution is the way to the Father,
有些人以为，教会这个机构是通向天父的道路，
72. But they’re utterly wrong.
但他们大错特错了。
73. Some believe that their good works and their good efforts will gain them favor with the Father,
有些人以为，通过他们的好行为可以讨神的喜悦，
74. That belief is thoroughly unbiblical.
这种信念是完全不符合圣经的。
75. Jesus said:
耶稣说：
76. I am the only way to the Father.
我是到父面前唯一的道路。
77. You try any other way and you will be thoroughly lost.
任何别的路都会使你迷失方向。
78. If any of you have ever been lost in your life,
如果你曾经迷过路，
79. If you have experienced that you know what a frightening experience it is.
你就会明白，那种迷失的感觉有多可怕。
80. When I was young one day I was lost,
小的时候，有一天，我走丢了，
81. There was a large crowd.
迷失在人群中。
82. And there were a dozen people looking for me,
有许多人都在找我，
83. I wandered away from where I was supposed to be.
我却越走越远。
84. And in a large crowd and in a large city, that was very frightening.
在一个大城市中，在人群里迷了路，是很可怕的。
85. I began to panic,
我惊慌失措，
86. Because the sun was setting and I couldn’t find my family,
因为太阳就要下山了，而我还是找不到家人，
87. My family was looking for me in a panic also.
我的家人也着急地四处找我。
88. As darkness fell, I began to scream in my loudest voice,
天黑了，我开始没命地大叫，
89. I was stricken by fear,
我被吓坏了，
90. I was driven by panic.
我被恐惧笼罩着。
91. I ran around from street to street, totally lost.
我跑过一条街又一条街，完全迷失了方向。
92. There is no feeling like that feeling of being lost,
迷路的感觉实在是无法描述的，
93. The more I ran looking for my family,
我越想找到家人，
94. The further I got lost.
就越迷路。
95. My family did not move,
我的家人并没有离开，
96. I did.
是我走丢了。
97. Let me speak to you briefly tonight,
今天，让我来扼要地告诉你，
98. You may be a person who is looking for God,
你或许是一个寻找神的人，
99. Yet you are looking in all the wrong places.
但你却在错误的地方寻求祂。
SECTION C
丙部
1. And the more you try, the further you get away.
你越努力，反而越走越远。
2. Jesus said, “I am the Way.”
耶稣说：“我就是道路。”
3. Will you come to Jesus tonight?
你今天会来到祂面前吗？
4. You don’t board an airplane, or a bus, or a train without knowing where you are going,
如果不知道目的地，你是不会去搭乘飞机，公交车，或火车的；
5. Why do you do this with your eternal life?
可是你为什么要这样对待你的永生呢？
6. Why do you board your course of life not knowing where you are going?
你为什么在不知何去何从时，就要开始你的人生旅途呢？
7. When Jesus said, “Come to me and I will give you eternal life”.
耶稣说：到我这里来，我就赐给你永生。
8. Or you may be a Christian who bought into the lie that all roads lead to God,
或许你是一个基督徒，却被误导以为，条条道路都可以通向神，
9. And you have abandoned the faith of your fathers and your mothers.
你已弃绝了你父母的信仰。
10. When Jesus said, “I am the Way”,
当耶稣说，我就是道路时，
11. He meant that he’s the only way,
祂是说，自己是唯一的路，
12. There is no secondary road,
并没有第二条路，
13. There is no shortcut,
也没有快捷方式，
14. That way is the way of the cross.
这条路是十字架的道路。
15. When husbands and wives lose their way to each other,
当夫妻之间彼此不能沟通时，
16. it is because either one, or both, has lost their way to the Father,
是因为他们其中一个，或是两人，都失去了与天父的沟通，
17. Jesus is not their focus anymore.
耶稣不再是他们的焦点。
18. Children and parents who have lost their way to each other,
当孩子和父母彼此不能沟通时，
19. It is because either or both have lost their way to the Father,
是因为他们失去了与天父的沟通，
20. Jesus is not their center.
耶稣不再是他们生命的中心。
21. You try any other way,
无论你走那一条路，
22. Soon you’ll discover that it is the way to hell.
你很快会发现，那是通往地狱的路。
23. But Jesus who is the way,
然而，耶稣这条道路，
24. Can lead you back to the road, to the truth, and eternal life.
却能带你走回到真理和永生的路上来。
25. Come to him tonight!
今天就来到祂这里吧！
